House of Harlow 1960

October8

I can’t believe this.

I haven’t been able to update myself with what’s going on with her but Nicole, yes Nicole Richie is launching her new jewelry collection this November. I am truly excited about this.

I love cocktail rings and I will always be a fan of accessories and jewelries. That oversized gold-plated sunburst ring she’s wearing is absolutely GORGEOUS and a must-have. I truly love every piece she’s wearing on this photo. Especially that gold-plated headpiece. And those large bangles and the cuffs. OMG!

I wish I can go to the new Kitson on Melrose Avenue (Oh I wish) where Nicole’s jewelry line will debut. But that is in LA and I am miles away from that place. But the good news is, these pieces will be also available online at Shopkitson.com and (cough, online shopping on its way, cough).

Having said that, Nicole Richie is one of my favorite fashion icon. I love the way she dress her self up from head to toe. Even when she was still pregnant with Harlow, she never lets her pregnancy get in her way of dressing up very fashionably.

Images were borrowed from her photo gallery.

I love you Nicole.

Quorn with sweet chilli sauce

October7

I’ve been a pesco-vegetarian for almost 3 years now. Pesco-vegetarian is a person who eats any combination of veggies, fruit, nuts, beans, fish and seafoods but will not eat mammals or birds. I seldom eat eggs but I do include milk, only skimmed milk on my diet.

Today, I made myself a meal which is low fat but very tasty.

Ingredients used:
Quorn chicken style pieces
Chilli sauce from mcdos
Pepper
Oil
Pinch of salt

Trust me, it is very delicious indeed. I’ve learned about this dish when I was still in school. Every Thursday, the dinner ladies will serve this dish. They normally serve it with chips/oven baked fries but today, I had it with wholegrain bread.

The main ingredient is the QUORN CHICKEN STYLE PIECES that I bought from Iceland before. Quorn (from wikipedia site) is the leading brand of mycoprotein food product in the UK and a leading brand elsewhere. Mycoprotein is a generic term for protein-rich foodstuffs made from processed edible fungus.
P. S Personally, I quite don’t like this definition especially the word fungus. Eeeek.
I also used Chilli Sauce from Mcdonalds because this is the best chilli sauce I have ever tasted.

LV pump-wedges on my wishlist

October3

I’ve been mad, maybe obsessed about shoes ever since…….. I-couldn’t-even-remember-when.
And I strongly agree with the saying that “Shoes are a girl’s best friend”. But shoes are not only my bestfriend, they are my “first love”.
Heels are my number 1 admiration. I have a number of pairs in my wardrobe. Most of them are very much used, some are slightly used and others were bought only to give them a home. =)

I visited style.com and saw this.

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT is the right term to describe how I felt when I saw this photo. The perfect heels (coz its not too high and not too low), the glimmery texture, the combination of black and gold and the BRAND. I couldn’t ask for more! I want this pair of pump-wedges and I want them NOW!!!! They are not the every day shoes (obviously) but they are gorgeous. They are sexy, very sexy and very very sexy. I could literally make babies with them.

But the truth really does hurt. I can’t afford to buy myself this pair of LOUIS VUITTON pump-wedges; not yet. Well who knows, maybe few years from now, I will be able to buy myself not just a pair of Louis Vuitton shoes but HUNDREDS.

Marc Jacobs, I lavva yah!

Seafoods Sarciado

October2

I had my last lecture at 4pm today and so I have plenty of time to cook a ‘proper-ish’ food for myself. I am craving vegetables for dinner but when I went to Marks & Spencer after my lecture I was disappointed (but not surprised) with the prices of their vegatables. So I had no choice but to just walked out of that freaking store.
Somehow, I managed to buy myself a ready-to-eat selection of seafoods which was on clearance btw because it has to be cooked TODAY. It consists of shrimp, rings of squid and scallops.

I went home and made myself an ‘invented’ meal.

My ingredients were:
-garlic
-onions
-egg
-tomatoes
-butter (instead of oil)
-seafoods
-pinch of salt

I saw this video of how to make Sarciado and I got the idea from there. The only difference (I think) is that I used seafoods instead of fish and I didn’t put ginger and or fish sauce.

This was the end product:

I have NO idea what to call this dish but the title will do.
It was very delicious  FOR ME and it did fill me up so I am happy.

lectures VS tutorials

October1

The first time I saw the word “Tutorial” on my course handbook programme, I lost interest on it. It is somehow not what I want to do and never ever liked doing. Its about: working on groups, doing presentations, asking and aswering questions bla bla bla.
But based from the two (so far) tutorials I’ve been to this week, tutorials are now officially my favorite teaching method for a number of reasons.

First: Working with groups. I am totally not cool with working with others about a certain subject. I’d rather do things on my own, working in my own time and space, not arguing with others on how to work things out, I hate being told what to do etc. I just basically want to help and work with my own ME. But yesterday’s tutorial was really fun. I was in this group consisting of four members including myself and oh boi! I love my groupmates. They are so much fun to work with and I think (and really hope) that I am not going to have any problems whatsoever with them when doing certain tasks.

Second: Presentations. This is what I hate most about learning. Discussing or presenting to an audience of staff/students. It is not totally cool and not the nicest feeling of all to stand infront of a crowd and try and make them understand each of the words coming out of your mouth. Just imagine the feeling of PGMA addressing her SONA (Oh so thats maybe a different situtaion). But what about a singer in a concert or a show; that’s why its no wonder why some of them can totally get humiliated.
We did a little presentation yesterday, and I must say, it was the best presentation I’ve ever done. Simply because the nerves weren’t actually there. It was just me and the audience. No more. No less.

Today’s tutorial is different from yesterdays’ apart from one thing. FUN.
It was FUN. Everyone inside the room is smiling. Laughing. Chatting with their seatmate like they’ve known each other since they were even born but actually they’ve only met when – today??
We had this task to do (about learning how to use your calculator using STATS mode, which I’ve already done before btw). I was sitting next to this mature student and he hasn’t got a calculator with him and so I have to share mine. He is an old guy (according to him). He used to work in a bank, did accounts before and had an experience on business and that. But he hasn’t got a single clue on what we are actually doing. And so I had to help him. The look on his face everytime he does something right is unexplainable. He was so amazed on how those data entered on the calculator worked out so right. (Don’t know why though) Probably because he haven’t done STATS before thats why he is so amazed by himself everytime he gets an answer right or maybe….. I don’t know.
And we made a deal. I am going to help him with STATISTICS (from my experience) and he is going to help me with our ACCOUNTS subject. How cool is that. Uber
But honestly, I never like STATS. I will only lie to myself if I am going to say I LOVE STATS. I HATE IT. But not more than I hate MECHANICS.

And now I am off to check my timetable. And I hope that I have loads of tutorials this month.
